Department Of Political Science
The department of Political Science has been functioning since the inception of the college. The department has the highest intake of students in the college. The faculty members are well qualified and actively gets involved in the departmental activities as well as of the college. The department has regularly organized various events like the fresher’s welcome, farewell functions, field trips, talks, webinars, parents’ teacher meet and various competitions like poster making, essay writing and speech contest etc. The department is equipped basic components like a computer, a projector, a library with 150 plus books catering to the needs of the students whenever required.
The department has a wall magazine which is altered annually and a bulletin board were students actively update with current political events every month. The students of the department are always encouraged to participate in the college events and get diligently participate in the various college occasions. The students of the department are inspired to pursue higher studies and build their future.

“The roots of education are bitter but the fruit is sweet”—Aristotle.The department of Political Science aims at generating new knowledge and produce students who are trained in Political Science. Our core value as a department is to communicate the knowledge of Political Science. The mission of the department is to develop and cultivate among the young minds the political values and to exercise democracy as a citizen of the nation. Also, to apply the knowledge and understanding of the subject in to their day-to-day life and to serve the society as a whole.Our mission is also is to promote higher education to our students who belong to different strata of the society mostly from the disadvantaged sections and also belonging to far flung pockets of this region.Our vision is to impart among the students a critical bent of mind to see and perceive their surroundings in all aspects socially, politically, culturally and enhancing a civic sense.

The department of Political Science strives to inculcate values of discipline, team work, hard work, scientific temperament and to develop critical thinking among the students.

We encourage our students to refer and read various other reading material instead of just the prescribed reading material. Through our various papers such as political theory, global politics, comparative politics, public administration we try to inform and impart skills that would help them to be more informed in engaging with political environment of the society
